Hydro Session

It has taken longer than we had hoped but we are very nearly at the point of being able to open our Hydrotherapy Pool.  Thanks to some very generous funders we are now in the process of employing Pool Assistants to man the pool for 5 hours a day, 7 days a week allowing us to make the pool available to people outside of Hamelin Trust.  We are still in the process of working out the details around cost and booking information but if you would like to register your interest then please complete the form.

May 2009 - Barleylands Fun Walk

The weather was gorgeous on Sunday, May 24th as we gathered at Barleylands, Billericay for the annual Fun Walk. With a BBQ and musical entertainment the afternoon was a big success. Hamelin Trust walkers raised almost £800 in sponsorship and the Roots & Shoots raised a further £400 through plant sales.

A big THANK YOU to all those who helped raise funds for Hamelin Trust.

Apr 2009 - Pool Training

The Hydrotherapy Pool at Sutton Bridge Farm is complete and we have now entered the second phase of fundraising to employ a physiotherapist to oversee the pool. We are now starting to train our staff in pool safety and using the equipment training.

Unfortunately we are not in a position to open the pool to the public until we have a pool manager in post. As soon as we are able to open the pool information will be placed on the website. If you would like to be added to our contact list for future information on the Hydrotherapy Pool please complete the form in January's pool update item below.

Nov 2008 - Hydro Pool Update

Great progress is being made on the construction of our Hydrotherapy Pool. The foundations of the pool are now in place, pipework installation has almost finished and we are working on the set down area outside the building. It is an exciting project for us and one where we see many benefits going forward.

A survey is now being undertaken seeking input on how we can get the best use out of the pool. Click here to complete the survey online.

Sept 2008 - Hamelin House Make Over

An enthusiastic and well organised Project Team from Fords visited Hamelin House to redecorate the building in a single day. The Team arrived after a good breakfast, to start work early in the day and were soon at full speed with various mini-projects happening all at the same time.

The Team smiled throughout the day and achieved a fantastic result in updating the paintwork throughout the building and making a number of garden improvements. Staff at Hamelin House made some valuable contributions too and whilst it was business as usual at the House, the day passed off with a big thumbs up.

Hamelin Trust would like to extend their gratitude towards the Fords Project Team for all the effort and hard work undertaken. Hamelin House is now looking bright and refreshed!

Sept 2008 - 25th Anniversary

Hamelin Trust marked their 25th Anniversary by holding a celebration event at Ingatstone Hall. Invitations were extended to all Staff, Service Users, Trustee and friends of the Trust. To coincide with the celebratiion a Balloon Launch was also organised which raised over £1000.00 for the Trust.

The event started late afternoon, on Friday 5th September, with a large attendance from our service buildings, based in Billericay, Rochford and Wickford. Attendees enjoyed music supplied by a local band and an extensive buffet organised by various staff from the Trust. The Balloon Launch took place at about 5:30 p.m., which coincided with a brief interval of pleasant sunshine after a day with long periods of rain.

Ingatstone Hall made a prestigious setting and the celebration was viewed as a great success in bringing everyone together for what was also a nostalgic look back at the events leading up to the formation of the Trust and a display of photos depicting the Trust's life from 1983 onwards.

Terry Gregson, the Chairman of the Trustees made a wonderful speech and was supported by fellow Trustee, Shirley Gowland, in a trip down memory lane. Steve Fisher, the Trust's current Chief Executive cut the 25th Anniversary celebration cake to a generous round of applause and the Trust look forward to new challanges that lay ahead in the years to come.

We are constantly updating the site with our latest news aritcles and items of interest about the Trust. If you have any contributions or interetsing articles on the Trust then please send your photos and your story to webmaster@hamelintrust.org.uk and we will do our best to include your contributiion.
